(107) 12 Hours to go…

12/11/23 16:29

Finished with coaching both Rory and Jasper’s rugby teams for big matches against local rivals, I’ve put a load of washing on and am now sat on my bed, latte on the side, Premiership rugby on the tellybox and custard creams, poised and awaiting demolition.  But this is no ordinary Sunday.  This is now 12-hours before I wake up and start getting washed and dressed for my trip to Paris.

This is no ordinary trip to Paris, either.  I have Nev coming along tomorrow night to ease the early morning pressure for her and also affording her a more productive day.  But her productivity is totally different.  This trip has me holding at least 4 interviews with various people.  I still don’t want to give out names as they may not come to fruition – although I think at this stage, they’re confirmed.  If I give the names away now, there will be no surprise on my podcast, Coffee Pot Conversations.

I don’t know when I’ll use these chats, I don’t know how good they’ll be or if they’ll even be of any interest to anyone.  What I do know is that I learn from what I do.

Experience is the best friend of knowledge.  Some of the people have experience of these kinds of things so hopefully they will guide me through the process.  Others are merely excited to be talking to someone who has paid an interest in their life and workings.  Regardless of what happens, I still want to have a few chats with people in England, surrounding the coffee culture.  I’ll worry about the logistics later.  For now, preparations have me deep into 2026 with my own work.  If I can get specialists to help, that’s great.  If not, I’ll still be doing what I’m doing.

One thing I want to do, once Coffee Pot Conversations is up and running is have special broadcasts released as they happen.  Later in the day, these will be behind the paywall on BMaC (buymeacoffee.com/anenglishmaninparis).  I’ll also fill out the blogs with background information, extra photos.  The podcast will have bloopers and extra chats.  I’m looking at live videos; Instagram initially and then members only on YouTube, once I have gotten a large enough following.

For now, I’m happy building up slowly behind the scenes…
