“To me, there’s nothing nicer than sitting in a boulangerie in the morning, cup of tea, pain au chocolate… and my notebooks”

I’m sitting in a boulangerie, in the morning, with a cup of tea, a pain au chocolate and my notebook.  I’m listening to 1.9 A Conversation with Jasper on my Coffee Pot Conversations hosted by An Englishman in Paris podcast which is due to be released tomorrow.  It’s a rather sweet episode that took a while to put in place, as Jasper was more than a little nervous about it all.  But he did exceptionally well unlike this Herbin fountain pen which is leaking her black ink all over the page.  In fact, it’s only on the inside part of the page.  I’ve gone through three-quarters of a cartridge writing three-quarters of a page in my blue “Tu Manges l’Orange” notebook.  Once the ink has gone, I’ll swap pens and then once I’m back home, I’ll examine both pen and refill to work out what has caused this highly unexpected and very rare situation.  All this and I’ve not even started my new job yet. 

That must be the reason why I’m only a 5-minute walk from Hackney Town Hall.
