(131) A Failed Bid

Maison Ferrand.  Gare du Nord side of rue La Fayette.  About an hour to go before I’m meant to be at the Eurostar departure lounge.

They ran an upgrade auction thing the other day; you get to bid for an upgrade.  I checked the app and it was £170 for the upgrade.  Which coincidentally was the same amount that they recommend being a secure bid.  £100 was a strong bid.  Surprisingly, my £45 was deemed wea and therefore according my email, unsuccessful.  I’m kinda glad as I’m having dinner with Nev at St Pancras upon my return.  I wonder if she’ll let me film or not.  Maybe just the regular iPhone type of dinner video.  I’ve then got the long schlep back to Barkingside and the 18-mile hike from the station.

Saturday will be a chill day and a shower to eliminate my shoulder pain before rugby on Sunday.  I imagine I’ll be a coach rather than a ref.  And quite possibly not the substitution coach, either.  As long as it’s an easy Sunday, I don’t really mind.  I’m exhausted and have work on Monday.
