(138) T’interweb Connectivity

Sitting on a train just outside of London.  On a phone call.  Using the internet.  Having a connection so I can see Nev via video.  She is in Thailand, finally in Bangkok after a 3-hour delay that meant she had to fly to another airport in order to refuel and circle back.  One of us has no reception.  The other one isn’t going to Paris today.

Gare Saint Lazare

It was more family-oriented at the Eurostar departure lounge.  The EES scanners look like they’re in place at the French border control in London but the UK Passport Office was little more than an Ikea unit, stood on its side with a computer screen poking over the top, pretending to work without having a computer attached.  My passport was stamped on page 10.  Page 11 shows the “November interviews” and the trip to the Olympics, both directions.  Page 10 isn’t quite so clear.  You can see I left Paris on the 17th August, 2022.  You can also see I left Paris on the 4th April, 2023.  2024 has me leaving Tenerife on the 20th September.  That’s Tenerife, not Lanzarote.  The latest stamp adds to the prior 3 years with me traveling, but out of London.  I’ll do a proper run-down of my passport stamps once the EES is up and running.  The most recent estimate, from the Port of Dover, has it as November of this year.  Good luck.
