I’m sat in Maison Ferrand, my latest favourite boulangerie. This is another one that I’ve been to before. It was for the November recordings for Season 3. I won’t be here next time as it’s a bus rather than the Eurostar, meaning I’ve no real reason to be this close to Gare du Nord. I’ll be at Bercy, instead. My itinerary has totally changed, not only for then, but also for today, yesterday and Wednesday – which was the day before yesterday. I’ll list down in a little while my planned itinerary for next week in a little while.

For now, I think I want to tell you a few of the tales from today. But with 2 hours left, I may not get a chance to complete these tales in this one sitting. Okay, firstly, in theory, I’ll try chronologically to retell these tales. If the timing is wrong, then I’ll blame my master’s degree for allowing me the privilege of creative writing in non-fiction.
I broke the credit card machine at the hotel. It was for the city tax and in the end, after a reboot of the machine, it went through. It’s on video.
On to the next activity of today’s traversing.
I’d walked a fair way, around a cemetery, down long roads and then I stopped by a gorgeous-looking church. As is my wont, I popped in. Before I could enter the main chapel, I was stopped by a lady who spoke to me. We conversed in both English and French and we made ourselves understood by this method. She was homeless, hungry and had a swollen knee. She had no money and her hotel wouldn’t let her sleep there. Neither would the church we were standing in. And she smokes but has no cigarettes. Also, her job is sex. On the plus side, this church didn’t have a funeral service taking place, unlike the one I went to yesterday!
Many wrong turns later (I’m referring to me, not her) and I end up at the Arc de Triomphe, whereby I went and did some intro videos. I actually only wanted to record one here, but after several takes, it just doesn’t work out. So I take off the Action 5 and see I have 24% battery left. And a recording lasting 83 minutes. This is meant to be a hyperlapse. It turns out that it was a regular video and thereby, without proper preview, I suspect I have audio of some kind from when I left the hotel room to when I was stood at the top of avenue Foch. Not quite a huge issue, more an inconvenience. A slightly humorous one, perhaps?
