(153) My Journey Through Podcasting: A Personal Reflection to Season 4

06/07/25 16:25

Costa Coffee. Stratford Westfield. Sunday afternoon. Downstairs. I’m finally very close to finishing the opening episode of Season 4. That means I’m around 35 episodes and 18 months in. What I’ve done, where I’ve been, what I’ve accomplished and how I’ve succeeded are still surprising to me.

I’m a simple nobody that has managed to interview guests, recorded in Paris, remotely interviewed via video, learnt about podcast production for audio and video, including the whole editing process. All of this whilst somehow maintaining a normal life as a dad, boyfriend, son and nephew, rugby coach and runner (and now cyclist). Life has been hectic, it’s been manic, it’s been a change of job, a depletion of finances and yet, I’m constantly growing in my own personal development and at the same time, supporting and encouraging others to do the same. My eyesight may be giving me a few problems, my teeth are being fixed and who knows what’s happening with the diabetes. Sleep is constantly minimal and broken and the memory isn’t as sharp as it was. However, my weight is slowly going down, as are the inches. On the plus side, I can turn around a remote interview in 36 hours and I’m heading back to Paris for Season 5 recordings!
