(151) Working My Way To Clarity

03/06/25 12:46

Whilst this is a day off, it’s not actually a day off.  I’ve left Nev’s place to get to school to pick up Rory to take him to Whipps for his first physio appointment.  I’ve dropped him back home and have come to Leon’s little coffee shed tucked around the corner from Nev, to sit and write for a while before heading back to get the boys for tonight.  Tomorrow I’ll be dropping them off, taking Unc to Aldi, working from home, then getting Jasper from school in order to get him to the dentist.

Hard work, but there’s no issues as it’s what a dad and boyfriend do.  We stretch ourselves too much, never complain and simply get on with it.  Would I change anything?  Absolutely.  I’d change my eyesight and retire, knowing I have sufficient funds in the bank to survive.

Okay, so the battle of creativity.  That’s a fight I can talk about.  I closed Season 3 last week.  I also pulled a whole heap of stuff out the bag in order to get more things up to date.  The blog, this entry aside, is where it should be.  The blogcast is a month ahead in terms of recorded episodes.  I’ll possibly do some more next week.  The posting on Instagram is virtually up to date, too.  There are the weekly blog posts – I have 2 lined up and possibly 10 left to schedule to get up to date.  So, with all of this, I’ve decided to try and get everything on Patreon; the blog, the podcast, the blogcast.  I’m a fair way behind with the blog/blogcast, but that’s not such a biggie.  I have already recorded 29 episodes but am on blog entry 150 – this is 151 – so I have a way to go.  Yet, these are weekly releases.  Again, no issues.  Once the blog photos are up to date on Instagram (with my 330 followers and 291 posts), I’ll start to post my 500 or so photos that I’m editing with Lightroom.

Season 4 of Coffee Pot Conversations is going to be the second half of A November Overnight Stay in Paris which will give me time to focus on Season 5; 2026 already.  I’m half looking at another new direction whilst keeping things similar.  I’m going to struggle with this part.  I know I need to get back to Paris (preferably this year – I suspect it’s going to be November again…) but then what?  What could I realistically do?  Yes, we all know I want to chat to people, but with the introduction of video, well, this is simply one more can of uh-ohs that I’ve now added to the mix.  Nev suggested museum tours or an Emily in Paris real-look.  I’d need to research and plan either of these options a whole heap.  I don’t know if I’d find the time or the energy to do this.  And if I did, would it be 9 episodes’ worth?  I asked ChatGPT for episodial assistance.  Didn’t  really assist.  I have my existing episode ideas which I guess I could read whilst recording in a few different cafés.  Which I like the idea of – getting back to where I started.  As long as the recordings worked.  And again, I’d need a whole heap of research by then.  Not impossible, but not necessarily easy whilst still working through Season 4.  Unless I get a good head start during this inter-seasonal break.  I’ll need to dig out whatever I’ve already written (once I find it) and then work on a few more, too.  And get more in the bag as back-ups in case some don’t work or I continue through Season 6 with the concept.  I know I still want a few interviews with ‘famous’ people, too.  They’ll need to be worked in somehow.

First, the Universe needs to get back on track so I can afford it all.
