(159) Coming Close to a Close

It’s been over 4 months since my last entry. A lot has happened and a lot has not. My family, relationship, living arrangements and work have all not changed. The podcast is now coming to the end of Season 5 with a trip to Paris scheduled in 2 weeks.

Holy cupcakes, two weeks. I’ve actually now got quite a bit to do before then. The day before is when my Scottish nephews and their family come down to see us. Nev will be in Cyprus, but I’ll have the boys with me. So that’ll be nice. But I also need to pack. Clothes are fine, it’s not the recording stuff as that’s narrowed down to a phone, microphone and a tripod. Living life the simple way. However, I do want to set up the DJI cameras as part of what may become Season 7. That’s all still to be decided upon. It does look like every 2 seasons, so that’s every year, I mix things up a little.

I’ve written, in theory, enough to cover Seasons 6, 7 but that depends on the natural breakages I’ve built into some of the episodes. Like Madame de Pompadour. I’ve just flicked through some pages in my notebook. I only have 6 pages remaining in this one and I’m 3 entries behind on the blog. That and the fact I’ve not written once this year, means that there’s little to catch up on so I may take my Chromebook with when I go to Paris. Probably to use whilst in the Ibis hotel in the 18th, rather than any random or planned stoppages I take during my 3 days there.

I have now gotten to the stage where I sort of am soft launching Maison du Flâneur. I have coffee which I have sourced from a different supplier than the original one I had planned on using. I also have the solid fragrances and the spray fragrances (one of which my dad actually uses). Packing is almost complete, just plain boxed for now. So it’s the advertising of the brand and its products that I need to focus on. The website, whilst not what I had envisioned originally, is working and aimed at the market in the way the consumer wants it. Not my choice, but not my business model, anymore. Things change, ideas evolve and I’m not in a position to challenge it. YET!

And now I have only 5 pages left before I go to Paris. Do I get back into the blog for one more entry so I take a new notebook or focus on finishing the Flâneur episode so I can record it over there?
